Michigan GOP: MacDonald’s Election Integrity Bill Sent to Governor


Sen. Michael D. MacDonald’s legislation to ensure the state’s Qualified Voter File is consistently and continuously updated with current voter information was enrolled by the Senate on Tuesday and now heads to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

“This reform was passed with broad, bipartisan support and is the result of listening to our local clerks about how to improve the integrity of our elections,” said MacDonald, R-Macomb Township. “For our democratic republic to work, the people must have confidence that our elections are fair and honest and that the results accurately reflect the will of the voters. This is about restoring that confidence and reducing opportunities for fraud by ensuring our voter lists are regularly updated to remove people who have died.”
